James Hurndell
Manager of Threat Analysis, 
Intelligence and Cyber Defence Operations

National Cyber Security Centre

James Hurndell is the Manager of Threat Analysis and Intelligence within the GCSB’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The NCSC’s purpose is to create a safer digital world for New Zealand to prosper. Its focus includes identifying and responding to cyber security incidents impacting New Zealand’s nationally significant organisations, and those likely to cause a national level harm.  

James has a breadth of experience across the NCSC’s functions including leading operational and analyst teams and currently leads teams at the heart of the NCSC’s cyber analysis and intelligence operations.

He has a background in threat analysis, engagement, incident response, and resilience raising. Prior to this role, he  led the Cyber Resilience Unit and has contributed to significant national level responses to cyber security incidents.

 

James has a Bachelor of Arts with a triple major and a Master of Strategic Studies from Victoria University of Wellington and has experience working across government and the private sector.

Director of Threat Intelligence Operations

FortiGuard Labs ANZ 

Glenn has more than 25 years’ experience in different roles across the technology sector with a solid background in defence, intelligence, national security, and government affairs. 

 

His role with FortiGuard Labs focuses on identifying and sharing threat intelligence to help organisations protect against current and emerging threats.
